Going Out in Style: Friends of Marlene benefit raises $30K
To make good on a promise to their friend, more than 130 Friends of Marlene gathered inside Chez restaurant next to the Northwestern University Medical Center campus in Chicago on Nov. 8 for their eighth annual benefit.
Marlene Hetzel Palmerson had wished for supportive services, like counseling and nutrition, alongside pharmacological medicine, when battling terminal breast cancer. In order to stay true to this mission and continue to expand comprehensive care, the organization became affiliated Gilda’s Club of Chicago to provide such supportive services at Northwestern University and other hospitals.
