Winnetkans fundraise, party for Chicago sustainability

Chicago Gateway Green and 1,000 enthusiasts married beauty and sustainability on Sept. 15 inside Architectural Artifacts in Chicago at the organization’s 26th annual Green Tie Ball, “Devil in the Green City.” NBC5 news anchor Marion Brooks and 101.9 FM The Mix’s Eric Ferguson lead spirited fundraising, supporting CGG’s environmental and aesthetic improvement programs.

Founded in 1986 by Donald J. DePorter, to date, CGG has planted more than 4,000 new trees, cleaned up in excess of 1.3 million pounds of trash and added 150-plus acres of green space. The event raised more than $300,000 and proceeds will benefit Expressway Partnership.
